Lyon + Post Review--August 2016

Happy August! It's been over a week since my last post, because I've been away on vacation. I'm hoping to do a post soon about my vacation adventures and some fun fashion finds that I encountered on my trip, but first, I had this beauty waiting for me when I returned home.
Am I the only one whose stomach gets butterflies when I see a subscription box on my doorstep?
If you read my last Lyon + Post blog, I ended up sending everything back, because none of it was really "me." The things I got sent were pretty far down in my queue, because many of my top choices were waitlisted. I just received an email from L+P, and it seems like they are growing faster than anticipated, which is causing the waitlist issues. I'm hoping for future boxes, I'll get some pieces higher up in my queue.

On to my choices for August:

Heartloom Drina Shorts--$59

I loved how these shorts were loose around my legs. They were very flowy and summery. However, they are a smidge too tight in the waist, so unfortunately, they are going back.

Verdict: Returned

Amour Vert Julita Side Tie Tee-- $78 $58.50

I paired this top with the shorts I received in my July Le Tote box. Now looking at this photo, I kind of wish I kept those shorts. Anyway, this tee was super soft and had a fun side-tie. But honestly, I really don't need another navy shirt. I seem to have a problem collecting navy shirts. So this is going back.

Verdict: Returned

BB Dakota Alesha Dress-- $105 $59.06

This dress, y'all..I'm so torn. When I pulled it out of the box, I thought, "no way!" It's a fabric that you can tell will wrinkle easily, and I hate ironing. However, when I put it on, it's sooo pretty. I love the color, and it has a cami slip attached, so it's not see through. It's so flattering and light and airy for summer. I have one more day to decide if I should keep or not. Decisions, decisions.

Verdict: on the fence

Diarte Leal Dress-- $189 $49.61

This was another piece that when I pulled it out of the box, I thought, "no way!" It's a knit sweater material, and looked like a potato sack. But when I added a belt, some chunky turquoise jewelry and my new gladiator wedges, I was singing a different tune. It looks so chic and simple, and could be styled so many different ways. UGH...again, decisions!

Verdict: also on the fence

Because I had these pieces in my queue when L+P was running their 25% off sale, some of these pieces are really at a deep discount.

If you're not familiar with Lyon + Post, The concept of this service is that you add clothing to your "queue," from the closet of items that they have on their site, and the top 4 pieces in your queue will get sent to you. You have a week to try them on, and decide what you want to keep, then just ship the rest back in the prepaid envelope. After they receive your return, you are charged for what you keep, then the next 4 items in your queue are sent to you.

You can filter the closet by size, price, type of clothing, brand, etc. The prices of the clothing range from less than $50 all the way up to $350+. I limit my range to under $200, because I don't want to see things that I know I can't afford, and that I'll (of course) love.

Like I mentioned earlier, because of their growth, many of the pieces in your queue may be waitlisted. I've had that issue my last two boxes. However, they seem to be addressing that concern.

If you'd like to give L+P a try, here's my referral link. You'll get $30 off your first purchase, and I'll get $30 off as well.

If you've tried Lyon + Post a try, let me know what you think!
