Le Tote Review--October 2016

Happy fall, y'all! We're well into October in Pennsylvania, but it feels more like summer. It's been in the 80s the past couple of days. It's been so beautiful! The nice weather has also made me super lazy about wanting to get on the computer, but I have a bunch of cute things that I've received lately, so I need to get on the ball.

Below is my latest Le Tote box. I've been getting so many cute things from them lately. Some of the pieces I wouldn't have ordinarily tried, but since there's no risk, I thought I would take the chance.

Here's my box for October:

1. Olive + Oak Striped Midi Dress-$58

This dress was really cute and comfy, and I liked the midi length on it, but holy smokes, it was tight! There were no midday snacks allowed with this dress. It was not forgiving.

2. Maison Scotch Leopard Print Pullover Sweater--$32

3. Hazel Neoprene Midi Skirt--$37

Both this top and skirt were super cute. The top was more of a light sweater material with faux leather details. The skirt was a stretchy scuba material and was a really vibrant blue-purple color.

4. French Connection V Neck Seam Sweater--$96

 

This sweater was okay. I liked that it had a slouchy look to it, which makes it feel cozy for fall, but it was a smidge too short. Also, you can't see it in this photo, but there is a split (intentional) in the seam at the bottom hem. It was a bit odd, and drew a little too much attention to...ummm...the lower portion of the sweater. Also, this was the first piece that I received that seemed a bit worn. There was a little bit of pilling on the sweater, so I felt it wasn't worth to keep, especially for almost $100.

Overall, I was pleased with this tote, and I love always having new outfits to wear to work. If you're not familiar with Le Tote, here's how it works. If you don't like what's been picked for you, you do have the ability to swap within 48 hours.

You can also purchase any of the items in your tote for a discounted price.

The third option is to pick 2 clothing items and 1 accessory (excluding scarves and handbags) for $39/month. The same rules apply that you can get as many boxes as you want in a month, and the charge is still only $39.

1. AU Amanda Uprichard Off the Shoulder Blouse--$49

I must have been looking right into the sun in this photo. Yikes!

I have been on the hunt for the perfect off-the-shoulder-blouse, but there has always been something not quite right about them. Too tight, too loose, too short, too wrinkly. I still haven't found one that's just right. I loved the color of this blouse, and the elastic on the arms was actually great on this one. The sleeves actually stayed put. However, the material was a shiny polyester acetate fabric, and I wasn't a fan.

Verdict: Returned

 2. Uttam Butterfly Printed Wrap Dress--$41

 I loved this dress. It was so fun with the butterfly print all over it. I have another Uttam wrap dress that I got from Stitch Fix a while ago, and I wear it all the time. I really struggled with keeping this dress, but, in the end, I thought this dress is so unique that every time I wore it, people would say, "Didn't she just wear that butterfly dress last week?" So I decided to pass.

3. Noir Luxe Floral Fringe Necklace--$9

 This was another cute piece that was fun to wear, but the fringes kept flipping around the necklace and getting tangled up, and it was a pain to keep untangling it.

Verdict: Returned

4. Kate Spade New York Palm Tree Pendant--$46

 I love me some Kate Spade, especially her whimsical jewelry pieces. I tried the palm tree earrings in a previous tote, so I thought I would give the necklace a try. It was cute, but a bit small. For $46, it wasn't for me.

Verdict: Returned

5. Willow & Clay Faux Leather Blazer--$53

My photography skills in this post are sorely lacking. I apologize for all of these crappy pictures.

I thought this blazer looked really cute in the photos on Le Tote, but I was really nervous to wear it, because I didn't want to give off a '70s leather blazer vibe. So far I've worn this to work 3 times, and I love it. It's a great staple; It's professional, yet edgy. I may look like I'm going to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in this, but I don't care. I love this piece!

Verdict: Kept

6. Jack Side Zip Moto Jacket--$68 (BONUS PIECE)

 There were so many pieces that I wanted to try in this tote that I paid an extra $9.99 to get an extra item. Moto jackets are so on-trend for fall, so I wanted to give this black one a try. It was super cute, but a little too short. Also, I have a brown faux leather moto jacket that I got on clearance at Target for $7, so I decided to send this one back.

Verdict: Returned

I was super happy with this tote, and it's awesome to have a constant stream of new clothes to wear to work, then just ship them back. No cleaning, and no fuss. If you'd like to give Le Tote a try, hit me up, and I'll send you along a free tote.

Le Tote Review #2--August 2016

1. Nanette Lepore Printed Drawsting Tunic--$104

This was a fun, colorful summer piece. If I had this at the beach, I would consider wearing just as a dress, but it was too short for me to wear to work like that, so I paired it with my white Paige Denim jeans. The only drawback to this shirt was that it was really low cut, so I needed to add a cami underneath.

2. Glamorous Side Strap Top--$27

Sorry for the soft focus of the photo. I took this on a foggy morning before work. :)

This was a well-constructed top, especially for the price. It actually looked and felt much more expensive than $27, so it was well worth the price. The only drawback for me was the color. This orange color isn't in my Dressing Your Truth style, so back it went.

3. Octavia Salama Easy Dress--$64

This was another great summer piece. It was really cute and comfy, and I could see wearing this to the beach also. I just paired it with some sandals and wore it to work on a casual no-meeting day. It was nice to wear once, but I don't see myself reaching for this very often.

Verdict--Returned

4. Kate Spade New York Emoji Studs--$30

 These are so cute and fun! I love Kate Spade's whimsical designs, and these made me smile. They are a fun conversation starter. I've already worn these to work, and also with shorts to the grocery store too.

Verdict--Keep!

5. Vince Camuto Station Nail Bangle--$9

 Bracelets are tough for me, because they are usually too big on my wrist. I liked the edgy look of this with the nailheads, but it was just a bit too big. Plus I usually stick with silver jewelry.

Verdict--Returned

This was a cute tote, and like I mentioned, they just keep getting better and better. Although I only kept the earrings, I know I'll get a lot of wear out of them.
