Stitch Fix Men Review #3--March 2017

Happy Memorial Day! My husband will soon be getting his summer Fix, so I thought I better get on the ball and post his spring Fix.

For this Fix, he (and by he, I mean, I) asked for cozy sweaters and for a dressy, but casual, athletic cut tee.
Fix #3 had a variety of pieces.

1. Toms Ash Aviator Lace-Up Shoe--$98

Although he wasn't really looking for shoes, these are super versatile and were very comfortable. He's already worn them with both shorts and jeans for a dressy casual look.

Verdict: Kept

2. Grayers Brenton Slub Cotton Sweater--$98

This sweater was "meh." It really wasn't him. Stripes aren't his thing.

Verdict: Returned

3. Commerce La Grande Cotton Cashmere V-Neck Sweater--$58

This was a really nice sweater, and we both really liked it. It was just a smidge too short for it to be comfortable though.

Verdict: Returned

4. Scotch & Soda Distillery One Pocket Tee--$48

While I appreciate the stylist sending a casual dressy black tee like we requested, this was what Larry called, a "smedium." It was a little TOO fitted, and just looked too tight.

Verdict: Returned

5. Threads 4 Thought Standard Pigment Dyed One Pocket Tee--$44

This was a plain 'ol long sleeve tee. Nothing special. Meh

Verdict: Returned

This was Larry's third Fix, and he's already asked how many more of these does he have to do, so we may take a break after one full year. Although this was only a 1/5, the shoes were pretty nice, so  don't consider it a bust.

If you're not familiar with Stitch Fix Men, it's a service where a stylist will pick out 5 pieces of clothing for you, based on an extensive profile that you complete. You pay $20 for the service, but if you keep something, that $20 will be deducted from your bill. If you purchase all 5 pieces, you receive a 25% discount.

If you would like to give it a try, here's my referral link. If you use this link, my husband will get $25 toward his next Fix.

Stitch Fix Men Review #2--December 2016

Happy holidays! It's been 3 months, so it's time for another Mens' Stitch Fix review with my reluctant model, my husband.

For this Fix, he actually made a request, and asked for an athletic cut tee that could be worn with jeans or shorts for an evening out. I also asked for sweaters, because this Fix would be arriving in December, and loafers, because he needs shoes to wear with jeans when we're going out.

Without further ado, Fix #2:

I like how they change up the packaging to cater to their market. The clothes come wrapped in brown craft paper, and the style cards are in a much more masculine envelope.

1. Flag & Anthem Bedford Indigo Dye Colorblock Tee--$34.50

He asked for an athletic cut tee for jeans, but this was a bit more casual than what we both had in mind. Plus, it wasn't very fitted.

Verdict: Returned

2. Hawker Rye Essential Wash Long Sleeve Shirt--$58

This shirt wasn't bad, but he actually got a button-up shirt in his last two Fixes and kept them both. He really didn't need another button-up shirt, plus this one didn't fit as well as some of the other ones he kept.

Verdict: Debated, but returned

3. Mavi Warren PU bomber Jacket--$108

That's me in the background. :)
This jacket wasn't bad, but he got a genuine leather moto jacket from the Lancaster outlets last year that fits a lot better (and it was actually was less expensive).

Verdict: Returned

4. Tailor Vintage Rambler French Terry Raglan Sweatshirt--$98

5. Mavi Jake Slim Leg Jean--$98

This sweatshirt was just okay, and definitely for the price, it wasn't worth it. And what to say about these jeans. To quote my husband, "I'm wearing leggings." He's not a skinny jeans guy.
Checking out his butt in his leggings.
Verdict: Both returned

Unfortunately, this Fix was a 0/5. He didn't get any of his requests, and got more jeans and button-up shirts, which he got in previous Fixes. He's going to give it another go in March, but sadly, I lost my $20 fee this time around.

Stitch Fix Men Review #1--September 2016

And now for something completely different...

I had signed my husband up for the beta version of Stitch Fix for men back in June. Shockingly, he actually found some jeans he liked that were his first pair of designer jeans. Since our first experience was a positive one, I signed him up to receive a box every quarter. I was definitely more excited than him to see what he got in his September Fix!
Stitch Fix definitely switched up their marketing to fit their new audience. Much more masculine than the women's box.

Stitch Fix Men is now out of beta and up and running, so if you're interested in signing up your man, you can do it here (<---referral link). Stitch Fix for men works exactly the same as women's Stitch Fix. A stylist will pick out 5 pieces of clothing for you, based on an extensive profile that you complete. You pay $20 for the service, but if you keep something, that $20 will be deducted from your bill. If you purchase all 5 pieces, you receive a 25% discount.

My husband is a pretty standard jeans and t-shirt kind of guy, so I'm (gently) trying to get him out of his comfort zone.

On to his September Fix:

 1. Mavi Antelope Textured Shirt--$58

I told him to look pensive. I think he nailed it.
We both really liked this shirt. It was really soft and it had more of an athletic cut. Usually, with a size large, his shirts fit his shoulders, but are too big down the sides. This one was tapered, which made it really flattering.

Verdict: Kept

2. Ezekiel Vinny Jacket--$59
3. Mavi Zach Straight Leg Pant--$98

This jacket was made of a nylon material, and it was okay. It really wasn't his cup of tea. He has a black leather jacket he wears if he needs a jacket.

I think the description he gave for these pants was "a cheap hotel"...no ball room (*ba da dum*). These were super low rise and tight. They actually didn't look bad, but were too young of a style for him.

Verdict: Both returned

4. Alternative Apparel Marathon Hooded Pullover--$40

I really liked the color of this hoodie. It was such a bright blue. But, again, it just looked a little too young for him, and I don't see him wearing it out, and it was too expensive for him to wear as workout wear.

He was trying for Assassin's Creed in this photo. I told him he looked more like #angryphelpsface.

Verdict: Returned

5. 7 Diamonds Into the Blue Geo Print Shirt--$79
This shirt also had that athletic fit, which was really flattering. We debated about keeping this one, but he just got a short-sleeved button-up shirt in his first Fix, so for the price, we decided to send it back.

Verdict: Returned

Even though this Fix was a 1/5, I don't consider that a bust. He's super picky, so to find more than one thing that he really liked and considered keeping is amazing. I'm slowing expanding his fashion horizons. His next Fix is coming in December, and I asked for some sweaters, and he actually requested some dressy athletic cut tees, so we'll see what we get.
