For this Fix, I didn't request anything specific. I mentioned that we're in a transition period in Pennsylvania--in between summer and fall--so I would be open to pieces for either season. This Fix was better than July. My stylist is starting to get back on track, but I'm still not loving them as much as a did about six months ago. I'm not sure if it's an inventory issue, or if I've just been doing Stitch Fix too long that I'm getting a lot of similar things.
1. Gilli Bianca Space-Dye Pencil Skirt--$58
This was a cute skirt and well-made. It was lined and had a nubby velour texture to it. But, keeping with my Dressing Your Truth Type 4 clothing style, this color isn't "me," so I most likely wouldn't wear it.Verdict: Returned
2. Donna Morgan Behati Jersey Faux Wrap Dress--$128
You can't go wrong with a wrap dress. It's an easy piece to throw on for work, and look pulled together. I loved the colors, and although it was a smidge too short, I can live with it. I can wear it in the fall with some tights and boots, or with some kitten heel slides.Verdict: Kept
3. Erica Taylor Karen Printed Straight Leg Pant--$88
I love Emer pants. They are so comfy and flattering. I think I have about 3 or 4 pairs of Emers from Stitch Fix. These Erica Taylor pants reminded me of Emers. They had a great fit, and I actually really liked these. Unfortunately, I already have a pair of Emers that I got from Stitch Fix a while back with a very similar pattern.Verdict: Returned
4. Market & Spruce Galapagos Cross Bar Dolman Knit Top--$54
Along the same lines as my love for Emer pants, I also have an overabundance of dolman tops. I got a black dolman from Stitch Fix previously, so I wasn't too excited to see another black dolman. What made this one different was the back. The back of this was cute. But how many black dolmans does a girl need? So, back this one went.
Verdict: Returned
5. Diba Tred 3 Strap Heel--$80
So, these shoes. Granted I tried these on after being at work all day, and it was about 103 degrees outside, but YIKES! My poor feet look like stuffed sausages in these shoes. I had to double check that they were my size. (They were.)Holy smokes! I could be one of Cinderella's evil stepsisters. Plus, this photo confirms that I really need a pedicure.
Verdict: Returned (obviously)
This Fix was a 1/5 for me. It was a bit better than my July Fix, but still not awesome. I'm hoping things get back on track in the fall.
If you haven't heard of Stitch Fix, it's a service where a stylist will pick out 5 pieces of clothing for you, based on an extensive profile that you complete. You pay $20 for the service, but if you keep something, that $20 will be deducted from your bill. If you purchase all 5 pieces, you receive a 25% discount.
If you would like to give it a try, here's my referral link. If you use my link, I'll get $25 toward my next Fix.
My Fix #29 is supposed to arrive on my birthday, so fingers crossed that it's a winner. Happy shopping!
